A Year Without Clothes

Hi, my name is Ashley and I'm a shopaholic. I love thrift stores, sample sales, clothing swaps, and checking out my favorite shopping sites and boutiques. Poshmark, Wanelo, ModCloth, and Nasty Gal are among my most used apps. My closet is busting at the seems and my shoe rack is overflowing. Something has to give.

I am going to go a year without buying any new clothes (or shoes or bags!). That's right, 365 days without shopping the sale racks, charging my credit cards, or clicking "add to cart."

Not only am I not going to buy clothes for a year, I'm also cleaning up and clearing out my overflowing closet. If you want to snag something of mine, you can shop my closet on Poshmark. (Pssst! Use code HPEMU for a $5 credit. #yourewelcome)

I've already managed to stay clear of all the Black Friday and Cyber Monday madness. I think if I can survive not clicking "buy" on the biggest sale days of the year I might actually have a chance.

To help get me through 2016 I've already unsubscribed from tempting newsletters and added everything to my Unroll.me Rollup and I disabled push notifications on my favorite shopping apps.

Have any other tips to help reduce the urge to buy? And is anyone else going to spend less in 2016?
